Notre Dame Football continues onslaught of crystal ball predictions

We have talked a bunch about how Notre Dame football is killing it on the recruiting trail and the crystal ball projections keep coming in like crazy. 

You would think at some point that things would slow down for Notre Dame football recruiting, but so far, the Fighting Irish have stayed remarkably hot under new head coach Marcus Freeman.

Recently, Notre Dame football landed the commitment of five-star 2024 QB CJ Carr, who is the grandson of former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr.

Getting Carr, who ranks 20th overall in the 2024 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings was huge and the momentum hasn’t slowed down at all.

The only negative news for Notre Dame is the fact that the commitment of Carr seems to have ended any hopes of landing 2023 five-star QB, Dante Moore.

However, the Irish faithful still has plenty to be excited about and this week Notre Dame received new crystal ball projections with multiple targets.

One of those is Jack Larsen, who is one of the best tight ends in the 2024 class. He’s ranked 175th overall by the 247 sports composite rankings and is eighth among tight ends. He’s 6-foot-2, 212 pounds, and out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Notre Dame has received three crystal ball projections for Larsen who is expected to announce his commitment on Friday and it sounds like it will be a commitment to the Irish, adding to a 2024 class that is already ranked No. 2 in the 247 sports team rankings.

Another talented 2024 wideout, Cam Williams, is also trending with crystal ball projections to the Irish and has four now. He’s 6-foot-2, 185 pounds out of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and he’s ranked No. 122 overall in 2024 and is another recruit Notre Dame is going to beat Michigan out for. Just like Larsen and Carr and also it looks like Rico Flores and Ronan Hanafin.

Notre Dame football has been looking to make a move at wideout in the 2023 class and now that Carnell Tate is trending hard to Ohio State, the Irish are looking to close with Flores, a four-star ranked 187th overall, and Hanafin, who is ranked 345th overall and is listed as an athlete but is being recruited as a wide receiver.

Hanafin was also offered by Michigan, Georgia, and Alabama among others, while he’s taken a recent visit to Clemson, in addition to a trip scheduled for Boston College. He was in South Bend last weekend and Notre Dame football appears to be his new leader.

The Irish currently have 15 commitments in the 2023 class and 13 of them are blue-chips (4-star recruits or better) and with Flores and Hanafin trending in the right direction, it looks like that number is only going to go up.

And the truth is, in 2023, Notre Dame football is far from finished.
