5 thoughts on QB carousel in 2023 college football recruiting
QB recruiting in the 2023 college football recruiting class has taken a major turn as Arch Manning and Jaden Rashada have committed. Here are five thoughts.Â
After talking about some of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the 2023 college football recruiting class for months, even years in some cases, the carousel is spinning to a stop.
At least when it comes to elite QBs in the 2023 class. Arch Manning announced his commitment to Texas last week and just days after, four-star QB and top-50 overall prospect Jaden Rashada committed to Miami after inking a reported $9.5 million NIL deal.
Dante Moore, the No. 4 quarterback in the 2023 college football recruiting class and the No. 8 overall recruit according to the On3 consensus, also seems on the verge of a decision, as is four-star QB Avery Johnson and another top-10 QB Dylan Lonergan.
Within the next few weeks (prediction), every QB ranked in the top 25 of the 247 sports composite rankings will be committed somewhere, and here are five thoughts.
Texas is back (on the trail)
We still have to see the results on the field before the Longhorns are really back, but recruiting is more than half the battle and Steve Sarkisian is killing it.
Since landing Arch Manning, the No. 1 overall QB and recruit in 2023, Texas picked up six more commitments and is in line to land a five-star wide receiver too.
The fact that Texas should be able to play Quinn Ewers for this season and next and follow it up with two seasons of Arch Manning starting makes you feel pretty good about the future of the offense, especially with all of the elite talent ready to play with the next big thing at QB.
