Jaden Rashada makes waves
Miami showed it was serious about getting its football program back on track when it paid up to get Mario Cristobal away from Oregon.
There was the promise of better facilities, which is an upgrade that has been needed for decades, but the boosters are putting their money where their mouth is and thanks to a nearly $10 million NIL deal, Jaden Rashada is a Hurricane.
As the report says, Rashada’s decision wasn’t all about money. Florida’s collective actually offered more. But my guess is that if you didn’t have a big-time NIL offer, you wouldn’t even get a seat at the table.
Still, it’s impressive that Cristobal was able to beat out Texas A&M football, LSU, and Florida for Rashada’s commitment.
The four-star from California has the potential to be a superstar and if Tyler Van Dyke plays as well as people expect in 2022, he could be headed for the draft, which means Jaden Rashada could be the starter in 2023 for the Canes, who are also trending with a number of other highly-ranked recruits following Rashada’s decision.
