Florida football gets its QB

Florida football head coach Billy Napier has been widely criticized for his 2023 recruiting class but after some key commitments over the weekend and what happened on Thursday, maybe Gator fans will give him a break.

It was a bummer when the Gators whiffed on Rashada, after being viewed as the leader late in the process, but Florida football landed its 2023 quarterback on Thursday by completing a flip of Penn State commitment Marcus Stokes.

Stokes is a four-star QB ranked No. 396 overall in the 247 sports composite rankings and he’s out of the state of Florida. The Gators offered Stokes on Thursday and just like that, he de-committed from Penn State and pledged to Florida Football.

Not only that, but the Gators also beat the Nittany Lions out for four-star running Treyaun Webb. Webb is the fifth-ranked running back in the entire 2023 class and was also trending with predictions to Penn State before Florida pulled out the win.

That’s two key commitments from the state of Florida in one day and that’s a total of six four-star pledges for the Gators since June 21.
