Pitt football enjoyed the benefit of a few all-American candidates in 2021. While Jordan Addison and Kenny Pickett aren’t with the team anymore, they’ll have some all-American candidates in 2022.

2021 saw Pitt football‘s renaissance as a program. After years of treading in the ACC’s mid-pack, the Panthers went 11-3 and won a conference title for the first time in a decade.

While Kenny Pickett may be in the same building he was last year, he’s with the Steelers now, and Kedon Slovis takes control of the offense. Others have left, but for the most part, the core is still there.

3. Carter Warren – Left tackle

Warren is more than a solid left tackle, starting 36 games in three years and emerging as one of the most important cogs on the offensive line. While he had a Senior Bowl invite after a second-team all-ACC performance in 2021, he came back for one last campaign, along with three other seniors.

During that all-ACC season in 2021, he even managed to be ACC offensive lineman of the week against Clemson, surrendering no sacks in a 27-17 victory.

Warren is listed at 6-foot-5, and weighs 320 pounds, and is a stone wall on the outside. He can play himself into a first-round spot in the 2023 NFL Draft, and will surely be one of the top linemen in the ACC.

Here’s a look at other All-American candidates for Pitt football as the Panthers try to repeat as ACC champions in the 2022 season.
