You might be surprised to see BYU this high, but playing in Provo is kind of asking for a trap. The Cougars will be a ranked team in mid-October, in my opinion, and Jaren Hall is one of the nation’s most underrated quarterbacks who could give this Arkansas defense some problems.

Some key players are gone from last year’s 10-win squad but I think both the offense and defense improve and retaining Kalani Sitake despite outside interest was huge.

Matt Corral brought the Ole Miss football program to new heights in 2021, leading the Rebels to 10 regular-season wins before losing the Sugar Bowl to Baylor after suffering an injury.

Lane Kiffin — the self-proclaimed “Portal King” — landed some big names in the portal in Jaxson Dart, Zach Evans, and Michael Trigg. This offense isn’t going to miss a beat from last year which was the biggest concern with Corral moving on and this will make the Rebels Arkansas’ third-toughest test of the 2022 season in late November.
