Who’s got the early lead for five-star quarterbacks Jadyn Davis and Julian Sayin? Plus the latest on visits and expert projections for each.

As far as the 2023 college football recruiting class is concerned, each of the five-star QB prospects is off the board and the majority of the four-stars are too.

So the focus has shifted to the 2024 class, outside of trying to flip some commitments, but two of last season’s College Football Playoff teams have already turned the page seemingly to 2024.

Georgia missed on five-star quarterback Arch Manning. Michigan missed on Dante Moore, a player who is from Detroit — not far from the Wolverines’ campus.

It’s possible that both teams could look to flip quarterbacks in the 2023 class but it seems as though they have shifted their focus to five-star talents in 2024.

Michigan football is considered the early leader for Jadyn Davis, who is ranked as the No. 2 overall quarterback in the 2024 class according to the On3 consensus rankings.

There have been multiple projections from Rivals for Michigan after Davis took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor in June. Two of his teammates are also considering Michigan and one of his coaches, Jonathan Goodwin, is a former Wolverine.

However, Clemson is also in the mix and could get a Gameday visit this fall according to Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports. He also reported that Davis will visit Georgia this week too.

The Wolverines have a 45-percent chance according to the On3 prediction machine of getting a commitment from Davis, while Clemson is right behind at 38 percent. Georgia is at 8 percent and there is a good reason for that.

Georgia is the leader for Julian Sayin

Michigan and Clemson might be considered the leaders for Davis and that could be due to the fact that Georgia seems to have pulled ahead for five-star QB Julian Sayin.

Sayin is ranked No. 3 among QBs and 17th overall in the 2024 class (On3 consensus). He’s out of California but has been projected to the Bulldogs by experts from 247 sports and On3. The Bulldogs have an 81-percent chance of landing him.

That’s good news for Georgia because the Bulldogs are in the top three for both Sayin and Davis and depending on how the visit with Davis goes, they could be in the pole position to land the quarterback of their choice.

Michigan hopes to have something to say about that and as the early leader, the Wolverines will likely push for a commitment from Davis this weekend, although that seems unlikely.
