Ohio State Football: Ranking 2022 opponents by toughness
It’s hard to believe that Northwestern represented the Big Ten West in the conference title game a couple of years ago and it’s even harder to believe that the Wildcats nearly upended Ohio State.
Was that season a fluke? Maybe, because the Wildcats went just 3-9 in 2021. But if I know anything about Pat Fitzgerald, it’s that he followed up three-win seasons with 9-10 win seasons almost regularly. Consistency is just not something Northwestern knows all too well.
But with this being a road game (Evanston will probably still be all scarlet and gray), this could be a hangover following Iowa and Penn State matchups in the previous two weeks. Ohio State should still win easily.
Everyone likes to hype Maryland up every preseason and it usually lasts for a few weeks into the regular season until the Terrapins come back down to earth in conference play.
I refuse to hype the Terrapins up.
Maryland won’t be that tough of a matchup for Ohio State although Taulia Tagovailoa is going to be one of the league’s best quarterbacks again. He’ll be able to put some points on the board for the Buckeyes here, but it’ll still be a three-touchdown game.
