There aren’t many teams that could realistically challenge Ohio State from the West, but the two teams that could happen to be on the Buckeyes’ schedule.

Iowa is one of those teams that could put up a fight and the last time these two teams met was in 2017 and the Hawkeyes pulled off a massive upset, winning by 31 points. No one who played in that game is still on the roster so this can’t be considered revenge, but fans haven’t forgotten.

Columbus will be rocking for what might end up as a night game and the Buckeyes will win this one resoundingly even though Iowa has one of the league’s top defenses. The offense, though? Woof.

Wisconsin is the other team from the West that could put up a fight against Ohio State, but like Iowa, I don’t think the Badgers have the offense to really keep up with the high-powered Buckeyes.

Graham Mertz had an up-and-down 2021 season and while the run game might be one of the best in the country behind Braelon Allen, the Buckeyes are going to make the Badgers one-dimensional and force them into some third-and-longs.

Wisconsin’s defense may keep this one respectable in Columbus, however.
