Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Sept. 24. Florida Gators. Knoxville, Tenn.. 4. player. 840

Tennessee and Florida have been playing each other annually for three decades and it’s largely been a one-sided affair.

The Gators are on a five-game winning streak and have won 16 of the last 17 meetings. However, this is still a really tough contest to pick.

Tennessee, by my estimation, will enter this contest undefeated at 3-0 and will be coming off one final tune-up against Akron before this game. Florida will have already played Utah, Kentucky, and South Florida prior to Week 4.

Florida QB Anthony Richardson is going to be a better decision maker this year after going back and forth between backup and starter last season behind Emory Jones. He’s going to be clicking by the time the Gators and the Vols meet and help extend Florida’s winning streak.

Prediction:Tennessee 24, Florida 27 (3-1)

player. Oct. 8. Baton Rouge, La.. 5. 817. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LSU Tigers

Coming off the bye-week, Tennessee heads down to Death Valley to face the new-look LSU Tigers, led by Head Coach Brian Kelly and a ton of transfer talent.

LSU only returns a handful of starters on both offense and defense from 2021, but Brian Kelly is an outstanding coach, recruiter, and motivator.

It’s still too early to know who will be the starting quarterback for the Tigers, but Myles Brennan or Jayden Daniels are both really solid options.

LSU doesn’t have too difficult of a schedule to start things off in 2022. If they get off to a decent start, Tiger Stadium will be packed for this huge SEC clash. I give LSU and their home-field advantage the edge in this one.

Prediction:Tennessee 33, LSU 34 (3-2)

player. 829. Pick Analysis. Oct. 15. Knoxville, Tenn.. Alabama Crimson Tide. 6. Scouting Report

Alabama travels to Neyland Stadium for a really interesting game. The Tide will be coming off two really tough back-to-back games at Arkansas and vs Texas A&M before they face the Vols.

Will Alabama be healthy enough at the season mid-point? As long as reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young is under center and Will Anderson Jr. is holding down the defense, this is going to be an incredibly difficult team for anyone to defeat, including the Vols.

Home-field advantage will help the Vols a lot, but it won’t be enough and Tennessee’s slide will continue, giving them their projected third-consecutive loss.

Tennessee football fans should not panic, though. Relief will be coming in the next batch of games.

Prediction: Tennessee 17, Alabama 28 (3-3)
