How many games will Kansas football win this season?

Kansas football was terrible last season, which is no different than any last 15 years. Since the Jayhawks’ magic run to the Orange Bowl in 2008, Kansas has won five games only once. Kansas has lost 10 or more games six times in the same 15 years and has gone winless twice. Suffice it to say; they are the worst team in the Power Five.

Enter Lance Leipold in 2021. Leipold made Buffalo a winner, and the expectation is he can do the same thing in Lawrence. There has always been one fundamental question for the Jayhawks, “Is the administration serious about building a respectable football program?”

There were supposed to be improvements made to the football facilities over a decade ago but never came to fruition. Now Leipold and the athletic director Travis Goff are renewing efforts to raise money to renovate the 100-year-old football stadium.

What about on the field? The Jayhawks played hard for Leipold last season. They beat Texas, gave Oklahoma all they could handle, and lost to TCU and West Virginia by one score. Can Kansas have similar results this season?

It is difficult to say, but Leipold is building the culture in the program and a roster that is neither very talented nor deep.

Here is a closer look at the offense, defense, and schedule.
