Three teams that are overrated in Coaches Poll

Ole Miss –  Don’t kill me Ole Miss fans — I think the Rebels can be a solid top-25 program this season, they just have to prove it. Matt Corral was a huge part of what they did and while the transfer portal additions are impressive, Lane Kiffin still has to prove they will all work. Jaxson Dart is the X-factor. If he’s really good, this will be a top-20 team. If he doesn’t meet expectations, seven wins or so could be on the menu.

Pittsburgh – I like the Panthers’ defense and think Pat Narduzzi is a really solid coach. But I have a hard time seeing Pitt as the No. 16 team. They lost star wideout Jordan Addison to USC and Kenny Pickett is playing for the Steelers. They also lost their OC to Nebraska. Kedon Slovis could be great but he’s too big a question mark to be ranked 16th, especially after just one ACC championship.

Miami – It makes sense why Miami is ranked 17th. Tyler Van Dyke is an exciting quarterback and Mario Cristobal is an exceptional defensive mind. But that still seems a little bit high for the Hurricanes. Josh Gattis should help the offense play at a high level, but there seems to be a lot of projecting to have Miami 17th. 20-25 wouldn’t give me nearly as much heartburn.
