3 teams ranked too low in Coaches poll

Arkansas – The Razorbacks lost Treylon Burks and some others to the NFL but KJ Jefferson is back and Sim Pittman is on the rise as an elite head coach. The Razorbacks beat A&M and Texas last season and nearly beat Alabama. They also added Drew Sanders in the transfer portal and 23rd just seems too low for a team that could really contend in the SEC West.

Penn State – It makes sense why Penn State isn’t ranked based on last season but the Nittany Lions are one of the top 25 teams in college football. Sean Clifford needs to play better but he made strides last season and Penn State was better down the stretch. There’s also a batch of elite recruits coming in that can make an immediate impact and James Franklin, for all the hate he gets, is a proven winner. He’ll get 10 (with a bowl win this season).

Tennessee – If I had to choose between Ole Miss and Tennessee right now — in terms of who has a better season — my money would be on the Vols. I love what Josh Heupel is doing as the head coach and Hendon Hooker is legit. He’s more proven to me than Dart. The talent level is similar but I think Heupel will have this Vols team ranked consistently in 2022.
