2. Tyler Buchner wins the starting job, passes for 3,000 yards

All reports from preseason camp indicate that Tyler Buchner has taken that next step as a quarterback and is ready to become a leader as well as QB1.

This report should make every Irish fan beam with excitement. Everything they wanted to hear about Buchner from fall camp has come to fruition. He’s taken a “significant” step forward, looks like a leader, and has unique mobility. He could be even better than what Ian Book was.

Buchner is a mobile gunslinger and that’s something you don’t see every day. There’s a reason he was ranked so highly as a recruit and he was thrown to the wolves as a freshman as there were really no clear options for QB1. Jack Coan was not it and now that he’s gone, it’s Buchner’s job to lose.

I think Buchner will win the starting job and pass for over 3,000 yards in his first season as QB1. Not only that, but he’ll rush for over 500 yards and approach 30 total touchdowns.
