Wake Forest football had one of its most successful seasons in school history last season. Can the Demon Deacons repeat that success?

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons had one of their most successful seasons in program history last year. Wake Forest finished the season ranked for the fifth time in school history and won eleven games for the second time ever. The Deacons culminated a historic season with a 38-10 victory over the Rutgers Scarlett Knights in the Gator Bowl.

Last season culminated what Clawson has continued to build in Winston-Salem. The Demon Deacons have gone to six straight bowl games after a 6-18 record the first two seasons of Clawson’s tenure.

Wake Forest’s “get old, stay old” philosophy has made it one of the best developmental programs in the nation. Not only do the Deacons win games, but it also puts players in the NFL, with four players (two drafted) in the league this year.

Expectations will be high after such a successful 2020. Wake Forest has 70 percent of its returning production returning from last season.

What will happen this season? Can the Deacons find themselves playing for the ACC title once again? Here is a close look at Wake Forest’s offense, defense, and schedule for the 2021 season.
