I’ll be the first to admit it: BYU’s schedule is no cakewalk. The Cougars have to face teams like Notre Dame, Arkansas, Baylor, and Oregon, but all of those games are winnable. Only one of them (Oregon) comes on the road and the Ducks are under the direction of a first-year head coach and it’s early enough in the year that the Cougars could catch them off-guard.

Notre Dame is a neutral site game and the Irish are kind of a wildcard this year, but still beatable under first-year head coach Marcus Freeman. Arkansas will be a tough one, but BYU gets the Razorbacks in Provo which may just spook Sam Pittman’s team. And Baylor also comes to Provo and the Cougars are looking for revenge after losing by two touchdowns a year ago.

You can’t count BYU out of any game on the schedule and if they can win all four of those games, they’ll probably be favored throughout the rest of the schedule.

Jaren Hall is that good at quarterback and the Cougars are returning plenty of talent so an undefeated regular season wouldn’t be a total shock. They could be this year’s Cincinnati.
