We may witness one of the biggest turnarounds in college football history this year.

USC went just 4-8 a season ago and Clay Helton lost his job as head coach. The Trojans responded by going out and landing Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma. All he’s done since taking over has been adding talent from the portal, including Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison — two of the best players at their respective positions from a year ago.

That’s not even all, either. Riley picked up Mario Williams, Brenden Rice, Latrell McCutchin, Austin Jones, Travis Dye, Shane Lee, and Eric Gentry from the transfer portal. All of those guys were highly coveted and should push for starting jobs this fall.

The roster has been pretty much overhauled at key positions and that’s going to pay off.

As for the schedule, USC should begin the year 6-0 before facing Utah on the road and I think whoever wins that game will actually go unbeaten in the regular season.

Elite coach, premier talent from the portal, and a favorable schedule? Yeah, this could be a special year for USC.
