Ranking Georgia football opponents by toughness

7. Auburn Tigers
There are very few good signs for Auburn. Bryan Harsin won a pyrrhic victory against Auburn’s administration back in February. That concerned his treatment of players and coaches, which became obvious when large amounts of players entered the portal, as well as his offensive coordinator resigning mere weeks after he got the job.
The team itself is fine-ish. Tank Bigsby will always provide a sharp rushing threat, and Zach Calzada should be fine at quarterback. Even with those pieces in place, Auburn’s in trouble against the Dawgs.
6. Florida Gators
Billy Napier’s first team is a motley collection of guys that have come over from his former Louisiana job, as well as some Mullen-era holdovers, but there’s still some talent here. Anthony Richardson may well be a first-round talent at quarterback, and Montrell Johnson should lead an improved running attack. The defense does need a lot of work though, and Georgia football should do much of what they did last year against the Gators.
5. South Carolina Gamecocks
Shane Beamer had a very good year one, taking a team to a bowl that should not have been there. Now, he’s got Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler to add to the team. Many project another tick up on the progression chart for the Gamecocks this year, but Georgia should still win this game comfortably.
