No 3. Miami football has one of the best QBs in the ACC in Tyler Van Dyke

Sophomore Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, a native of Glastonbury, Conn., quietly had a terrific 2021 season. Probably because he wasn’t named the starter until the third game of the season.

He was rarely mentioned as one of the top players in college football last season, but that’s changing with the 2022 season. Van Dyke was recently named one of the top 25 college football players heading into the 2022 season.

In 2021, he threw for nearly 3,000 yards and recorded 25 touchdown passes and just six interceptions. He was, however, sacked 20 times, but Cristobal, a former offensive lineman himself will no doubt have that O-line shored up before the opening game against Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 3.

The 2021 ACC Rookie of the Year is going to face some of the best defenses in the country this season when The U faces Texas A&M and Clemson.

If Van Dyke can thrive against those teams, he’s going to become a household name not just in the ACC, but in all of college football.

Buying some stock in Van Dyke is a wise idea. With at least one more year of eligibility in the tank before he’s eligible for the NFL Draft, he’s going to help propel Miami football back into a powerhouse.
