Pick Analysis. 3. player. UTSA Roadrunners. 2408. Scouting Report. Sept. 17. Austin, TX

Last year was program-defining for the Roadrunners. They went 12-2, won Conference USA, and had several pro prospects playing for them. This year, guys like Sincere McCormick and Tariq Woolen are gone, but quarterback Frank Harris is still in the backfield, ready to perhaps take advantage of the Texas defense.

UTSA is in the driver’s seat to win Conference USA again, but they’re a step or two behind on talent. Look for a Texas win.

Prediction: Win (2-1)

Out go Matt Wells and Sonny Cumbie. In comes Joey McGuire, who had been Baylor’s assistant head coach during the previous three seasons in Waco.

Last year’s Tech team wasn’t a disaster. They went 7-6 and won their bowl game. In addition, they had a positive net yards per play differential, so McGuire is coming into a good situation overall.

Yet, in last year’s contest, Texas put up 70 points on the Red Raiders. That doesn’t bode well for them for this year’s contest.

Prediction: Win (3-1, 1-0)
