Here are five college football teams, including expected playoff contenders like Notre Dame football, Clemson, and Texas that are dealing with injuries in fall camp.

Injuries are part of the game. Many of the elite programs in college football can sustain despite significant injuries. Teams like Alabama and Georgia could still have success with injury issues.

However, some programs cannot withstand significant injuries to their rosters. Many teams need starters to stay healthy and play to their potential to have good seasons. Injuries during summer and fall camp could derail high expectations for many teams.

Here are five college football teams dealing with significant injuries already.

Florida State

Wisconsin transfer Kayden Lyles was going to be a veteran anchor on an offensive line looking to improve from last season. The Seminoles’ offensive line has been poor since the Jameis Winston era. Lyles was a veteran with 15 starts while at Wisconsin.

Jordan Travis has touted how much he’s improved as a passer, and that might be null and void if the Seminoles cannot protect him. Maurice Smith looks like the starter right now.

Also, walk-on running back CJ Campbell is out for the season. Campbell was expected to be a core special teams player.

Florida State cannot have any more injuries, especially on offense. They are in trouble if they do.
