18. Wisconsin: Braelon Allen approaches 2,000 yards

Wisconsin has a history of elite running backs and this year will be no different. Just over the past decade, the Badgers have had guys like Montee Ball, Melvin Gordon, and Jonathan Taylor but we are witnessing the rise of another superstar in Braelon Allen. The second-year starter is going to have a huge year after breaking the 1,000-yard mark last season and I see him even pushing for that 2,000-yard mark. I would not be shocked with an 1,800-yard season.

17. Pitt: Panthers struggle, finish unranked

Pat Narduzzi rode Kenny Pickett and Mark Whipple to an ACC title and Peach Bowl berth last season and that’s honestly not even a hot take. Both guys are gone. Although Kedon Slovis is a nice addition this offseason, I do believe the Panthers will take a step back and they’ll finish the year unranked. Pitt is not going to be it this year.

16. Miami: Tyler Van Dyke finishes top five in Heisman race

Tyler Van Dyke had a really good first season as a starter in 2021, replacing D’Eriq King and many believe he’s going to be one of the top NFL draft prospects at the position. I’m also a believer in Van Dyke and after passing for nearly 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns last year, I think he’ll do a solid job of leading Miami to a successful season and he’ll finish top five in Heisman Trophy voting.
