Ole Miss football is entering the 2022 season as one of the top teams in the SEC but will Lane Kiffin lead the Rebels to the title game?

Lane Kiffin has pieced together a solid Ole Miss football team for the 2022 season and he’s hoping he can build on the 2021 campaign in which the Rebels finished with 10 regular-season wins.

Bringing in Jaxson Dart to replace Matt Corral was a good step in the right direction and it feels like the Rebels’ offense is going to pick up right where it left off last year. Zach Evans also comes in to replace Snoop Conner and Jerrion Ealy in the backfield and the entire offense got a shot in the arm thanks to the transfer portal.

Will the defense catch up to the offense this season? That remains to be seen, but I do believe that many are overlooking Ole Miss.

How will the Rebels fare in 2022?

Troy went just 5-7 last year and I could see the Trojans taking a step forward and making a bowl game this season. But that doesn’t mean I believe they have any chance against Ole Miss in the season opener. Jaxson Dart is going to put on a show and Zach Evans will break 100 rushing yards.

Prediction: Win (1-0)

Just like Troy, Central Arkansas doesn’t really stand a chance here. The Bears had a sub-.500 record last year and they might be even better this year, but Dart and Evans are going to have a field day, break 50-60 points and start the season 2-0.

Prediction: Win (2-0)
