It’s hard to believe that Nebraska football can’t put it together under Scott Frost but it’s probably time for the head coach to go.

Isn’t there a saying about how trying the same thing over and over again but expecting different results is the definition of stupidity?

I know it goes something like that. As a disgruntled Nebraska football fan, I just don’t care enough to look it up, and frankly, I don’t need to, the living definition is playing out in front of our eyes.

Yes, despite a strong start and an 11-point second-half lead, Nebraska football lost another close game under Scott Frost, and here are three takeaways.

Nothing changed

Nebraska football got a new quarterback in Casey Thompson and for part of the game, he looked great. But in the second half, when the game was on the line, he struggled. His receivers didn’t help and dropped some catchable passes but it was Adrian Martinez all over again.

There were some great moments and some eye-popping plays such as his scramble and bomb down the field in the third quarter, but if you can’t make winning plays when it matters, then nothing matters.

No one cares if you can beat North Dakota, which isn’t a guarantee. Nebraska needed this win and its quarterback failed to deliver. The Huskers also failed to clean up the same old mistakes.

Fumbles, interceptions, dropped passes, missed tackles — it’s like a terrible song on repeat and it just won’t stop.
