2. UTSA will pick up 200 or more rushing yards

The Roadrunners can run the ball down your throat. Starting quarterback Frank Harris is a dual-threat that can use his wheels to blow by defenders. He had seven games in which he rushed for 50 or more yards last season.

His running back last season, Sincere McCormick, accounted for 1,478 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns. He’s since moved on to the NFL as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Roadrunners may have found a solid replacement in Arkansas transfer Trelon Smith.

Smith rushed for 598 yards and five touchdowns on 119 attempts last season for the Razorbacks despite a loaded depth chart at his position. In 2020, Smith racked up 710 yards on 134 attempts to go along with five touchdowns.

Trelon Smith looks to continue racking up the yardage with Harris, who plays a similar style to that of his former Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson.

Together, Harris and Smith will find a way to make defenders miss and lull them into opening up some passing lanes to burn them when they least expect it.

The Roadrunners racked up an average of 183.5 rushing yards per game in 2021, look for them to double down on their strength and pound the football.
