1. Tyler Buchner is going to be really good

Tyler Buchner completed his first eight passes against the Buckeyes on Saturday night. Think about that for a second.

In his first big-time start as a member of the Irish, he completed eight straight passes to begin the game in a hostile environment in Columbus and looked calm, cool, and collected. He was making tough throws and he tossing dots to his receivers. He never got too high or too low and even though he finished just 10-for-18, he was solid with 177 yards.

Buchner didn’t throw any picks or make any major mistakes so he had the Irish in a position to win the game, but you also have to remember this is his first year as QB1. He has a bright future.

I’m buying all the stock in Buchner right now because he just has the feel of the next great Notre Dame quarterback despite ending the game 2-for-10 passing.

I think he’s going to thrive under Tommy Rees with his strong arm and athleticism.
