After a disappointing 2021, Haynes King and Texas A&M football are ready to go for 2022. They open with Sam Houston State at Kyle Field. Let’s get bold.

Texas A&M football faces Sam Houston State to open the season on Saturday.

Haynes King is getting a second chance at quarterback after an injury in Week 2 of last year. There is a huge group of freshmen looking for a chance to play and prove that they are SEC-ready. Let’s talk bold predictions for this matchup.

1. King gets through the matchup without an interception

This may not seem like a bold prediction to some that don’t remember the Haynes King of 2021, but he threw three interceptions to the likes of Kent State to open the season in what should have been a much bigger blowout.

Now, he hasn’t just beaten out the likes of Auburn’s newest third-string quarterback in Zach Calzada. He beat out a talented freshman in Conner Weigman and a transfer in Max Johnson who has SEC experience. He is the man for the job, according to Jimbo Fisher, and that must mean he is better off than he was a year ago.

My bold prediction for King is that he makes it through this matchup without throwing an interception. That will be huge for the Aggie offense that is trying to figure it out at wide out. There are quite a few guys that are looking to be the guy for the Aggies this year and they have to help Haynes out to make this bold prediction a reality.
