Texas A&M Football: 4 takeaways from delayed win over SHSU
By Shelbie Warr
1. The defense is ready
While the offense, especially the line and quarterback, are filled with question marks, the defense is not. I can be quoted as saying the secondary brought me a lot of unanswered questions, but it would seem that they have proved me wrong and the defensive line and linebackers were ready to go as well.
A shutout is exactly what the Aggie defense needed to feel as if they were ready to face the rest of the schedule, starting with the offensive firepower of App State who put up 40 points in the fourth quarter alone in their Week 1 game.
The normal culprits were great: Demani Richardson, Shemar Turner, and Antonio Johnson. However, throw in guys like Walter Nolen and Fadil Diggs among others and you get a strong defense that could really carry this team for another season. I am not too worried about this unit for the Aggies, they will only get better.
However, the offense is another story.
