Week 1 of the 2022 college football season is in the books and there were some great games. How did the Big Ten shake out in the first full week of action?

College football was back in full force with Week 1. After a long but interesting offseason, it was good to have a whole bunch of games to watch Thursday through Saturday. All Big Ten teams except one were in action this weekend.

The results for the conference ran the gambit. Ohio State picked up a solid top 5 win over Notre Dame. Other teams did not show much against overmatched competition. There were also two conference games with both having fantastic finishes.

The Big Ten has implemented more early conference games in recent years and it seems to be working out. While some teams may prefer to start off with tune-up games against FCS or lower-tier Group of Five schools, watching conference matchups attracts more viewers.

Fox Sports ended up the big winner of Thursday night, with a little over 3.5 million people tuning into the Penn State at Purdue tilt. With the newly negotiated media contract, look for the conference to push more early conference tilts in the future.

The Big Ten East won the weekend with all its teams winning their contests. How do the Big Ten football power rankings look heading into Week 2?
