3. Georgia may be better than last year

This may be my hottest take, but I have it at No. 3 because I’m not fully sure I believe it quite yet.

Georgia just beat the No. 11 team in the country so viciously that it just felt illegal to watch (as stated earlier) and Oregon was dropped all the way from that spot near the top-10 all the way out of the rankings for Week 2.

The Bulldogs just won the national title last year and had one of the best defenses in recent memory and even though they lost a number of talented players from that team, they arguably looked even better in the opener. Oregon scored just three points and had 313 total yards despite being arguably the most talented team in the Pac-12.

Kirby Smart has an even better offense last year with Stetson Bennett seemingly taking that next step, passing for 368 yards and two touchdowns. The run game was slightly underwhelming, but seven receivers had at least two catches.

Did the reigning national champs get even better in 2022? Maybe so.
