College Football 2022: 5 piping-hot takes from Week 1
2. Anthony Richardson is the nation’s most exciting player
If I were to pick a Heisman favorite after just one week, it would have to be Anthony Richardson.
Coming into the season, Richardson was everyone’s pick to break out and after one game, that looked like a smart choice. He only had 168 passing yards, but he still scored three touchdowns and was the reason the Gators were able to pull off the upset of the nation’s No. 7 team.
Richardson had 168 passing yards and no scores, but he did complete 71 percent of his passes and showed off his cannon of an arm. He also had 106 rushing yards and three scores on 11 rushes and scored the game-winning touchdown on a keeper with just under 1:30 left in the game.
Florida didn’t look overmatched and was able to keep up with the Utes throughout the game because of Richardson and he just has that it factor.
Richardson is the nation’s most exciting player and probably the current Heisman frontrunner.
