College Football Week 2 is here and here are five teams that should be on upset alert during the second full week of the 2022 season.

One of the best things about college football is the upsets. We didn’t see a ton of surprises during the first week of the season but College Football Week 2 has some juicy matchups and some teams that could be ripe for an upset.

Playing a quality team on the road early in the year can always be dangerous or playing a solid team after a big win, which is something Florida Football will have to do this week against Kentucky.

Of course, top-ranked Alabama will be on the road against Texas. College Gameday and Big Noon Kickoff will be there but the Crimson Tide aren’t one of the teams we have on upset alert.

Alabama is doing to dominate Texas and it will be over by halftime. That’s my prediction at least and here is a look at five teams on upset alert in College Football Week 2.

(Odds are all according to WynnBet)

No. 12 Florida football (-5.5) vs No. 20 Kentucky

It’s interesting that Kentucky was the team ranked in the preseason top 25. Mark Stoops’s team won 10 games season, has a solid defense, and Will Levis is back at quarterback, despite his interesting choice of Mayo as coffee creamer.

Under first-year head coach Billy Napier, the Gators knocked off Utah, the defending Pac-12 champions. Anthony Richardson, the quarterback, was stellar last week but Kentucky will be more prepared to deal with him than the Utes.

Florida football will also have to prove it can handle success and beat two good teams in a row, something it will need to do often to contend in the SEC in the coming years.

I think Florida will win a close game, but the Gators definitely should be on upset alert.
