ACC football power rankings, Week 2: Clemson far from fixed

3. Pittsburgh Panthers (1-0)
The Panthers played in one of the more entertaining games this weekend against West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl. Pitt found a way to win a close game 38-31 behind 308 passing yards from USC transfer Kedon Slovis.
If there are two concerns from the game, one is they averaged just 1.9 yards per rush attempt,t and Slovis was sacked five times. The Panthers did an excellent job of limiting the explosive plays, with the Mountaineers averaging under six yards per play.
2. Florida State Seminoles (2-0)
Florida State has had the best two weeks they’ve had in years. First, the Seminoles get off to a great start against FCS opponent Dusquene, then they upset LSU in New Orleans, essentially a home game for the Tigers.
Head coach Mike Norvell has to love the maturation of quarterback Jordan Travis. The defense looks one of the best in the ACC (maybe the country?), and Albany transfer Jared Verse looks like the steal of the transfer portal. Louisville beware.
1. Clemson Tigers (1-0)
Clemson defeated Georgia Tech fairly handily Monday night in Atlanta. DJ Uiagalelei played well after a bit of a sluggish start. That said, there are some concerns about Clemson that the numbers will tell.
Head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter might be concerned about the running game or lack thereof. The Tigers had only two running plays of more than ten yards, averaging just three yards per rush attempt.
Also, Uiagalelei did not push the ball downfield often, while backup Cade Klubnik looked like the ball jumped out of his hand. Quarterback controversy, anyone?
