The second week of the college football season didn’t disappoint as there will likely be a ton of movement in the newest version of the AP Top 25.

Looking at the slate of games for Week 2, I didn’t think college football could get any crazier than it was in the opening week. But I was wrong. So very wrong.

Alabama traveled to Austin for what was considered the game of the week and everyone kind of expected the Crimson Tide to roll. That wasn’t the case. Texas held its own for 60 minutes and nearly pulled off the mammoth upset of the nation’s top team but fell just short thanks to a field goal by the Tide in the final seconds.

As if that wasn’t enough excitement and intrigue, Notre Dame fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-3 in the Marcus Freeman era with a shocking home loss to Marshall. Fans are starting to question whether Freeman is the right guy for the job, and rightly so. There’s no excuse for losing that game.

Next, it was Texas A&M that shocked everyone by losing to App State in an uninspired 17-14 effort. No one was expecting this, especially after it looked like the Mountaineers didn’t know how to play defense in their season-opening loss to North Carolina.

The Week 3 AP Top 25 is about to look way different.
