College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 3

This ranking is based solely on the premature notion that Baylor is going to end up losing to BYU in Provo on Saturday night and nothing else. If that’s not the case, Utah will probably be the No. 11 team in the country while Baylor moves up a spot or two — or potentially even three.

I do think Utah showed that the opener loss at Florida didn’t affect them emotionally as the Utes just went out and dropped a 73-burger on Southern Utah in a 67-point Week 2 win over the in-state directional school.

A 38-point second quarter propelled this massive blowout and Cameron Rising had a really good response game against an inferior opponent after losing to the Gators in Gainesville in Week 1. He had 254 yards and three touchdowns while completing 17-of-23 passes.

Utah just needed a couple of weeks to really ease into the 2022 season much like the Utes did in 2021.
