1. Lance Leipold, Kansas HC

Why the heck isn’t Lance Leipold talked about more in terms of potential replacements for Scott Frost? He would be a fantastic hire by Nebraska and I can bet he’d jump at the opportunity to coach the Cornhuskers as opposed to Kansas.

No, I’m not calling Leipold unloyal, but Kansas doesn’t compare to Nebraska in terms of program luster — although that might change if Scott Frost remains head coach in Lincoln while Leipold continues to build in Lawrence.

After Saturday’s games, I haven’t been this convinced about a program needing to poach a coach in quite some time. Leipold went on the road with Kansas and beat West Virginia in overtime.

Frost lost to Georgia Southern at home.

Leipold has had success everywhere he’s been as well. He went 109-6 in Division 3 (not a typo) with six national championships before going 37-33 at Buffalo. His first season at Kansas ended with a 2-10 record but he’s already 2-0 in 2022.

He’s 58, he’s from the Midwest, and he knows how to win everywhere. Hire this man.
