Big Ten East remains undefeated in non-conference play

Let first take a look at the Big Ten East games as the the six teams in the division each won their non-conference game in week two play.

The Big Ten East remained undefeated in non-conference play to go 12-0 but some teams lost for the first time in the Big Ten West in week 2 play.

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Buckeyes defense for the second game in a row held their opponent to 12 or fewer points.

Offensive Player of the game: Quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 351 yards and four touchdowns

Defensive Player of the game: Linebacker Steele Chambers had six tackles ad one sack

This Week: Hosts Toledo for a 7 pm game on Fox.

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Spartans had six rushing touchdowns by three different players.

Offensive Player of the game: Running back Jalen Berger ran for 107 yards on 17 carries and had three rushing touchdowns as well.

Defensive Player of the game: Defensive end/Linebacker Jacoby Windmon was named defensive player of the week for the second week in a row after causing three forced fumbles to go with his five tackles, one and a half sacks, fumble recovery, and pass break-up.

This Week: Travels to Washington for a 7:30 pm game on ABC.

Biggest takeaway from the game: Strong quarterback play as three play callers completed at least six passes, the two back up quarter backs combined to complete 12 out of 15 pass attempts for over 100 yards and two touchdowns. Starting quarterback Sean Clifford threw for over 200 yards and threw and rushed for a touchdown.

Offensive Player of the game: Running back Nicholas Singleton on only 10 carries, rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the game: Safety Ji’ayir Brown had five tackles with four of them being solo as well as having a pass deflection.

This Week: Travels to Auburn for a 3:30 pm game on CBS.

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Wolverine offense had 588 total yards.

Offensive Player of the game: J.J. McCarthy completed all but one of his 12 pass attempts and threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the game: Linebacker Jaydon Hood had three tackles and one pass deflection.

This Week: Hosts UConn for a 12 pm game on ABC.

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Terrapins defense held Charlotte to under 100 yards rushing.

Offensive Player of the game: He completed all but his four of his 31 pass attempts for 391 yards and four touchdowns through the air and one touchdown through the ground.

Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Beau Brade had six tackles and one pass deflection.

This Week: Host SMU for a 7:30 PM game on FS1.

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Hoosiers were down 10-0 at halftime but scored 23 points in the 3rd quarter to take the lead for good.

Offensive Player of the game: Running back Shaun Shivers rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Jaylin Williams had eight tackles with six of them being solo as well as a pass deflection.

This Week: Host Western Kentucky for a 12 pm game on the Big Ten Network.

Rutgers defeated Wagner 66-7

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Rutgers defense only allowed 19 yards rushing.

Offensive Player of the game: Running back Samuel Brown rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Robert Longerbeam had three solo tackles, tackle for a loss, and an interception.
