2. Penn State football has the better quarterbacks

Sean Clifford has been at Penn State for what seems like forever. In his sixth year, he has looked pretty good so far. He will be relied upon to win this one for the Lions.

Clifford accounted for five touchdowns, four through the air, in the win at Purdue including conducting a masterful final drive to win the game. Against Ohio, he played relatively mistake-free football, completed over 70 percent of his passes, and tossed a touchdown pass before being spelled early in the second half.

This brings us to why this section says quarterbacks plural. The Nittany Lions have Drew Allar as the backup. In his limited time, the former five-star recruit has not looked like a typical freshman. He has played very well. While he may not get any playing time against Auburn unless circumstances dictate it, he and Clifford are the better quarterback duo than the pair on the other sideline.

T.J. Finley has not looked particularly good so far against not-so-tough competition Mercer and San Jose State. He has thrown only one touchdown and three interceptions. While the Tigers rely on their rushing attack more, neither Finley nor freshman Robby Ashford looks like they could put the team on their back if called upon to do so.

Clifford had one of his best games of his career last year against Auburn, completing nearly 88 percent of his passes with two touchdowns. He will lead the Nittany Lions to another win over the Tigers.
