Nebraska is a total mess

It’s silly now to think that Mickey Joseph could step in and turn things around overnight. At the same time, I don’t think anyone believed Nebraska football was this bad.

The spread was 11 points or right around there and most believed the Huskers had a good chance to beat the spread. Some even picked Nebraska to win outright, including some Oklahoma beat writers.

Oklahoma was underrated coming into this matchup and the Sooners made a statement. But we might have underestimated how far Nebraska has to go.

Looking at the two teams, it looked like varsity vs JV in high school. The speed, the size, and the talent weren’t in any way comparable. It was shocking really. The Sooners could have scored 70-80 points if they wanted to.

I don’t see a single player on the Nebraska defense that could be more than a rotational player for the Sooners and there are only a couple. Not a single offensive lineman would crack the OU top five and that’s the way it is up and down the roster.

As bad as Scott Frost was as a coach, he was even worse as a recruiter and it’s going to take someone elite in both areas to turn this thing around.
