Casey Thompson throws for 300, Grant his the century mark

So far, Oklahoma has looked really good on defense under first-year head coach Brent Venables. The defense is allowing just 2.3 yards per carry, 3.9 yards per play, and also forcing quarterbacks to complete fewer than 60 percent of their passes.

Oklahoma has given up just one touchdown pass in two games and has nine sacks. That along with the stout run defense should make Nebraska fans worried.

However, Casey Thompson has thrown for 300 yards or more in two of three games and didn’t in the second because it was more of a run-based game. I’d love to see Thompson throw only 20 times or so as a Nebraska fan because that means Anthony Grant and Ajay Allen are having success on the ground, which is the key to a win for the Huskers.

But the Sooners are going to make that difficult and with Oklahoma probably leading at some point in the second half, Thompson will need to throw the ball, a lot. It will lead to a mistake or two, but also more than 300 yards and a couple of touchdowns, as well as maybe one rushing.
