I’m just going to come out and say that I doubted Oklahoma a little too much before the season but Brent Venables and the Sooners look like serious College Football Playoff contenders through three weeks.

While they didn’t look great a week ago, they bounced back to demolish Nebraska in Lincoln. Sure, the Cornhuskers were without Scott Frost for the first time in a few years, but the stadium was still packed with faithful fans. Nebraska fans never seem to take a day off and that was evident on Saturday.

It looked like an upset was possible after the first few minutes with the Cornhuskers struck first, but Oklahoma buckled down and ran away with the game, scoring 49 of the next 56 points.

Dillon Gabriel looked solid yet again with 230 yards and a couple of touchdowns and Eric Gray rushed for over 110 yards and two scores. The Sooners are just humming along and they look like the best team in the Big 12 this year.
