The second start of the JJ McCarthy era went just as well as the first as the second-year quarterback passed for 214 yards on 15-of-18 completions and looked flawless throughout the game against a hapless UConn team.

Michigan went up 17-0 at halftime and then 38-0 at the half and never looked back. The Wolverines made up for not covering the spread against Hawaii, thumping the Huskies 59-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Blake Corum was also the star of the show along with the Michigan defense, scoring five touchdowns on 12 carries and he added 71 yards.

The Wolverines are churning along right now as they’ve scored 50-plus in each of their first three games to start the season and they’re looking like serious playoff contenders for the second straight season.
