College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 4
Wake Forest was one of the handful of ranked teams who was unable to cover the spread in Week 3 and not only did the Demon Deacons fail to cover, but they almost lost. Sam Hartman and Wake Forest escaped with a one-point win over Liberty. And remember, this isn’t Malik Willis’ Liberty team.
Ole Miss didn’t skip a beat against a bad Georgia Tech team on the road, winning 42-0 and that was even with Jaxson Dart not playing his best game. Zach Evans rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns as he looks like the star of the offense. Lane Kiffin as the Rebels cruising through three weeks and they look like serious dark horse contenders in the SEC.
Florida had a scare against South Florida in Week 3 and if not for a fourth-quarter touchdown run, we might be talking about the Gators dropping out of the rankings completely. I could see Florida dropping a little bit, but the SEC bias will keep Florida at No. 18 after coming in there last week after a Kentucky loss. Is Anthony Richardson really that dude?
Texas State was an easy win for the Bears as they bounced back from a loss to BYU last week. Richard Reese rushed for over 150 yards and three scores as the game was never really in question as the Bears ran away with a 42-7 win. The defense and offense are coming together nicely.
Texas A&M was able to hold on in an ugly defensive affair against the No. 13 team in the country. I’m not sure that Haynes King would have been able to beat Miami so this quarterback change was the right move by Jimbo Fisher and I see the AP voters overreacting a little bit and moving the Aggies right up there to the top-15 range.
