Big Ten football power rankings, Week 4: Penn State a team to beat?
By Shane Lunnen
We are now at the quarter pole of the 2022 season. With several of the Big Ten football teams now having concluded their non conference schedules, conference play is about to begin in earnest.
Week 3 had five Power Five intra-conference matchups on the slate and they yielded some interesting results. In the most surprising result of the weekend, Penn State flew south and absolutely embarrassed Auburn.
Also a Big Ten East team took the first loss of the season for the division. The Big Ten West has what looks like one contender right now but things could change once conference play begins.
As far as the conference power rankings go, the top four are pretty solid along with the bottom two teams. The rest of the teams in the middle could probably be put in different orders and it would be justified. The conference slate should be able to answer more questions as we conclude the first month of the season.
