Rutgers beat Temple 16-14 on the strength of their defense. The Scarlet Knights had a 43-yard pick-six, the only touchdown they would score.

The Rutgers offense only generated 201 yards of total offense but the defense stopped the Owls just enough to gain the victory. Greg Schiano is now the winningest coach in Rutgers history. They will host Iowa next week.

It took three weather delays and seven hours, but the Hawkeyes got a shut out home win over Nevada 27-0. The weather was bizarre, but it only seemed to delay the inevitable Hawkeye victory.

Iowa’s offense finally got going. Running back Kaleb Johnson had 103 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries. Quarterback Spencer Petras played mistake free and tossed a touchdown. And the defense played lights out, holding Nevada to only 151 total yards.

Iowa needed this bounce back after the tough loss against Iowa State. They will now look to get some momentum going.

Purdue and Syracuse scored a combined 42 points in the fourth quarter, but the Boilermakers came up on the short end of the stick. They fell 32-29 to the Orange in the Dome.

The Boilermakers were killed by penalties. They racked up 138 yards on 13 infractions. Jeff Brohm absolutely has to get that cleaned up. There was only one turnover but it was also nearly the nail in the coffin, a pick six midway through the fourth quarter.

Purdue came back and had the lead with under a minute ago. But Syracuse got the game winning touchdown with less than 10 seconds to go. A tough loss for the Boilermakers and they will look to bounce back when they host FAU next week.
