Fresh batch of predictions for the remaining nine weeks of the season, including which college football coach will be fired next, who wins this year’s Heisman trophy, and more

We’re three weeks into the 2022 college football season, which means we have a small enough sample size to start making some predictions and projections about the remaining nine weeks on the schedule.

With nine weeks left in the season, anything can happen. But, some things are starting to come into view. Let’s dive right in and make some bold predictions of what will happen between Week 4 and Week 12 of the 2022 college football season.

1. Alabama will lose a game in October for the second-consecutive season

The Crimson Tide have an absolutely relentless October slate this season, facing not one, not two, but three teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25.

The Tide hit the road to face No. 10 Arkansas, No. 23 Texas A&M at home, and No. 11 Tennessee in three consecutive weeks. If the Razorbacks and the Vols both win this week, there’s a good chance both of those teams are firmly entrenched as top-10 teams.

Arkansas came within seven points of upsetting Bama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2021, Texas A&M was the only team to actually defeat the Tide in the regular season last year and Tennessee’s offense has outscored Alabama’s offense 156-138 this season.

Alabama will also host Mike Leach’s Mississippi State for the final October game of the season, but I don’t think anyone in the free world expects the Bulldogs to push the Tide to their limit this year.

I think Arkansas or Tennessee will be one of the teams that upset Bama this season.
