2. Takeaways for Kansas

No player on the Kansas roster is as excited to be 4-0 as quarterback Jalon Daniels. The Jayhawks lost every game his freshman year. Daniels lost his starting last fall. None of the adversity he or the team faced kept the junior quarterback from believing he could turn the Jayhawks into a winner.

That belief in self and his team was displayed this afternoon as Daniels put on a show. Kansas scored the first touchdown of the game and never trailed. Anytime Duke scored and came within one possession of tying the game; Daniels made a key throw or a pivotal run to keep the Blue Devils at bay.

The Jayhawks’ defense was not spectacular, but they did an excellent job keeping the Blue Devils out of the endzone on critical possessions. Duke amassed a lot of yards but did not score. Kansas kept the Blue Devils out of the endzone, shutting them out in the third quarter, and held them to field goals twice in the first half.

Kansas showed tremendous poise and confidence in the win this afternoon.

The win gives Kansas football his first 4-0 since 2009
