Oklahoma State was one of the only teams to have a bye this week and the Cowboys are going to need it with a huge game approaching on Oct. 1.

The jury’s still out on Oklahoma State despite a 3-0 start to the season with three double-digit wins. They looked shaky against Arizona State but ended up winning by 17 and the Cowboys gave up 44 points to Central Michigan. They were able to blow Arkansas-Pine Bluff out in Week 3 before heading into this bye and there are some things to clean up defensively.

Spencer Sanders has looked good so far this season and he’s really been the leader of this team so far but he needs to get his run game going behind him a little more and the defense needs to get back on track — they’re 73rd nationally in scoring defense.

With a road game against Baylor approaching, Oklahoma State needs to be near-perfect next week to retain a top-10 spot.
