College Football Week 4 Winner: James Madison Dukes

James Madison, a team competing in its first season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference since graduating from the FCS to the FBS, overcame a 28-3 deficit to pull off the upset over Appalachian State.

Appalachian State, who became a must-see college football team after down-to-the-wire finishes in their first three games of the college football season, finally ran out of magic against the Dukes.

James Madison pitched a shutout in the first quarter but allowed the Mountaineers to rattle off 28 points in the second quarter. Things were looking a little bleak going into halftime for the Dukes. But they went on a 22-0 run in the second half to get a memorable first-ever win as members of the Sun Belt Conference.

Should the Dukes be favorites to win the Sun Belt Conference? Right now it’s a two-team race in the SBC-East: JMU and Coastal Carolina, both entering Week 5 undefeated.
