2. Dan Mullen

Look, I know the name Dan Mullen might not get people that excited after the way things ended at Florida. However, beggars can’t be choosers and Georgia Tech football needs to realize it’s not viewed as an elite job right now.

Sanders could possibly be had if the Yellow Jackets can convince him of their potential and there is potential for this program, which did win a national title some 30 years ago. Yet, Mullen should be a much easier sell, especially with the recruiting pipeline of Georgia to draw from.

Mullen could be a fit at Tech not because of what he did at Florida, but what he did at Mississippi State. As a head coach and former assistant to Urban Meyer, Mullen is a proven winner. He’s spent 13 seasons as a college head coach in the SEC and made 11 bowl games. He finished with a losing record just three times and never won less than five games (twice).

One of his losing seasons was a 6-7 campaign after a bowl bid and a couple of years ago, he nearly rode Kyle Trask to an SEC championship. His quarterbacks have been productive and if he can put together nine straight bowl appearances at Mississippi State, he could certainly do it at Georgia Tech.
